On 17 April 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brasília organized a Songkran celebration under the theme “Once in a Lifetime: Experience Songkran in Brazil” to mark the Songkran Festival, the traditional Thai New Year, while promoting Thai culture, traditions, and national identity to members of the diplomatic corps, government agencies, media representatives, and friends of Thailand in Brazil. More than 50 guests attended the event.
During the opening ceremony, the Ambassador highlighted the significance of Songkran as a tradition that reflects cultural and family values, serves as the Thai New Year, and represents an important element of Thailand’s Soft Power that has gained international recognition through its inscription on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2023.
The event featured a variety of Thai cultural activities, including the traditional Buddha Bathing Ceremony for blessings and good fortune in celebration of the Thai New Year, tastings of Thai cuisine, desserts, and herbal beverages, a showcase of royal Thai traditional costumes, as well as Ramwong dancing and Songkran water festivities. The celebration created an atmosphere of joy, warmth, and smiles throughout the event.

Em 17 de abril de 2026, a Embaixada Real da Tailândia em Brasília organizou uma celebração de Songkran sob o tema “Once in a Lifetime: Experience Songkran in Brazil”, para marcar o Festival de Songkran, o tradicional Ano Novo tailandês, ao mesmo tempo em que promoveu a cultura, as tradições e a identidade nacional da Tailândia junto a membros do corpo diplomático, órgãos governamentais, representantes da mídia e amigos da Tailândia no Brasil. Mais de 50 convidados participaram do evento.
Durante a cerimônia de abertura, a Embaixadora destacou a importância do Songkran como uma tradição que reflete valores culturais e familiares, marca o Ano Novo tailandês e representa um importante elemento do Soft Power da Tailândia, que recebeu reconhecimento internacional por meio de sua inscrição na Lista Representativa do Patrimônio Cultural Imaterial da Humanidade da UNESCO em 2023.
O evento contou com diversas atividades culturais tailandesas, incluindo a tradicional cerimônia de banho do Buda para bênçãos e boa sorte em celebração ao Ano Novo tailandês, degustação da culinária tailandesa, sobremesas e bebidas herbais, uma apresentação de trajes tradicionais reais tailandeses, além de dança Ramwong e festividades aquáticas de Songkran. A celebração criou uma atmosfera de alegria, acolhimento e sorrisos durante todo o evento.
